2008 - 2009
Children's Theatre Schedule

El Campanil Children's Theatre
is pleased to showcase the young actors who work hard to bring these programs to other children through our school field trip program.  Now you can also attend performances on selected dates.  Bring the kids and grandkids.

September 5, 6, 7 - "Wagon Wheels A-Rollin" - a "rootin tootin family fun show," where even Moms & Dads get into the act! This fast paced spoof of the Old West is filled with goofy characters - hero Chuck Wagon, sweet heroine, Candy Cane, Wild Bill Hiccop, crooked card dealer, Smiling Slade Cladgett, the Ham sisters - Virginia & Glazed, & bandits who are more like the three stooges. Mixed with hilarious action, enjoyment and a laugh a minute!

October 10, 11, 12 - Stone in The Road & Three Bully Goats Griff - A double feature of silliness with a few lessons thrown in. Stone in the Road :A queen puts her subject to the test: who will move the large boulder from the road? A host of wacky characters pass through the scene as the queen and her faithful servant watch from a hiding place to see who will be unselfish. This well-known fairy tale entertains children of all ages, while teaching the importance of helping others.
The Three Bully Goats Griff
: A light-hearted, funny show, with a timely lesson. Two toll trolls who are bickering on a bridge have a “falling out” after Billy, the smallest of the three goats, decides to become a “bully goat.” One innocent victim after another gets pushed off the bridge, until pasture planner, Dee Veloper, political candidate Polly Titian, and others get together to teach Billy a lesson. Silly characters and non-stop action. Beyond the silliness, an important lesson is learned.

March 6, 7, 8 - The Emperor's New Clothes - The emperor has become a pampered clothes horse with a lack of taste! Not only is he an egotistical hypochondriac, he has three daughters who are quickly becoming chips off the old block. Two savvy merchants devise an ingenious plan for teaching the Emperor a lesson in fairness. With dialogue and stage action as dazzling as the emperor’s extravagant clothing, this charming adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson tale provides laughter and an important lesson:  honestly and fairness are the hallmarks of a good man, not his clothing.

June, 2009 -The Sound of Music - This popular family musical ends our first season.
